Supporting Your Business with Packaging Solutions Prepared for Europe's New Packaging Standards
The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR, Regulation (EU) 2025/40) represents a major step toward a more sustainable packaging economy across Europe. As key provisions of the Regulation become applicable from 12 August 2026, businesses exporting to the EU are expected to ensure that their packaging materials comply with the latest regulatory requirements.
At LAF Technology, compliance is built into our product development process—not treated as a last-minute requirement. Well ahead of the implementation date, LAF proactively completed comprehensive third-party laboratory testing to verify that our products meet the applicable requirements of the PPWR.

Meeting the Requirements of Article 5
Heavy Metal Restrictions
Article 5(4) of the PPWR states:
"The sum of the concentrations of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium resulting from substances present in packaging or packaging components shall not exceed 100 mg/kg."
LAF Flexitanks, Dry Bulk Liners, Paper IBCs and IBC Liners have successfully passed independent laboratory testing, confirming compliance with the heavy metal concentration limits specified in Article 5(4).
PFAS Restrictions
Article 5(5) further states:
"From 12 August 2026, food-contact packaging shall not be placed on the market if it contains per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in a concentration equal to or above the following limit values…"
To prepare customers for the new regulatory requirements, LAF proactively conducted third-party PFAS testing on relevant food-contact packaging products. Test results confirm compliance with the applicable PFAS limits under the PPWR.

Independently Verified Compliance
Rather than waiting for regulatory deadlines, LAF completed compliance verification in advance through an internationally recognized third-party testing laboratory.
Our verified product portfolio includes:
Flexitanks
Dry Bulk Liners
Paper IBCs
IBC Liners
Independent test reports are available upon request to support customers' regulatory documentation and procurement requirements.
Helping Customers Trade with Confidence
For companies exporting to the European market, packaging compliance has become an essential part of supply chain management.
By proactively aligning our products with the PPWR, LAF helps customers reduce regulatory risk, simplify compliance verification, and maintain uninterrupted access to the EU market.
As packaging regulations continue to evolve, LAF remains committed to providing safe, compliant, and sustainable packaging solutions for global bulk logistics.
